International Charity Public Organization «JOVID» (ICPO «JOVID») in 2018 continues carrying out the project «Improvement of livelihoods through adaptation to climate change in Kirgizstan and Tajikistan » financed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Devashtich district. It was planned under the project to distribute agricultural packages among potato growers. Agricultural packages consisted of nitroammophoska and carbamide – 150kg, components for bordeaux 1,5kg, insecticide Enjio 200ml and 1 liter of agro vitamin А9 per 0,5 ha of potato. Special criteria were elaborated to select project beneficiaries. Potential receivers of agricultural packages were informed about elaborated criteria during different group and individual meetings. As a result, in jamaots, dealing with potato growing (I. Somoni and Vahdat) 70 receivers of agricultural packages were selected and 70 packages were distributed among them and agreements were signed with them. According to the project plan, special trainings were organized for potato growers, representatives of Hukumats, jamoats where receivers of agricultural packages were explained the usage of packages, and they were consulted concerning the agro technology of potato cultivation. Consulting services are rendered for target groups and other interested in farmers during trainings, field days, different meetings, in the field and by telephone regarding potato growing, cultivation of grain, vegetables and horticulture on permanent base. Fields of agricultural packages receivers were visited by project collogues from Kirgizstan aimed to exchange the experience; they appreciated the project implementation process. To support housewives, 207 women from five jamoats in the district (they were selected according to elaborated criteria) were distributed seeds, seedlings of vegetables and mineral fertilize. During the distribution, receivers were advised and were provided the handouts concerning agro technology of vegetables cultivation. Given activity-helped women to gain good skills in the field of growing vegetables, secure their families with vegetables and surplus was sold and part of it was used as seed stock. Monitoring of project activity conducted by GIZ staff showed that the project implementation process is successful one.
