Project Initiated Pilot Procurement of Agricultural Tools

Following the approval by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) of the list of four types of agricultural equipment, project specialists initiated a pilot procurement process aimed at testing product quality and confirming full compliance with technical requirements prior to the implementation of the main procurement phase.

During the initial stage, one set of each of the four approved tools was ordered. This approach will allow the project team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the quality, reliability, and usability of the equipment under conditions closely resembling the actual working environment of farming households. Specialists will assess the durability of materials, manufacturing quality, functionality, completeness of sets, and compliance with the approved technical specifications.

Alongside the equipment testing process, project specialists developed detailed user manuals for each of the four types of agricultural tools. The manuals were prepared in clear and accessible language and include illustrations and step-by-step instructions, enabling project participants to use the equipment safely and effectively.

The next stage will involve a joint inspection of the equipment samples and user manuals by project specialists and representatives of the United Nations World Food Programme at the WFP field office in Khorog. During the inspection, the compliance of the tools with approved technical specifications, quality standards, and completeness requirements will be verified. The results of the inspection will be documented through an official verification report supported by photographic evidence, ensuring transparency of the process and providing the basis for proceeding with the main procurement phase.
