Target Jamoats Selected for Project Implementation
One of the key milestones of the project was the selection of the target jamoats where the main project activities will be implemented. The selection process was carried out in accordance with the approved methodology of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and was based on an objective assessment of the socio-economic conditions in the target districts.
During the first stage, data provided by all five target districts were collected, verified, and consolidated. The information was compiled using the standardized WFP assessment questionnaire and included indicators reflecting community vulnerability, socio-economic conditions, access to resources, and other priority criteria.
The assessment was conducted using an approved scoring and ranking system. Each jamoat was evaluated against a comprehensive set of criteria, enabling the identification of communities with the greatest need for assistance and the highest potential for successful project implementation. Based on the assessment results, the two highest-scoring jamoats were selected in each of the five target districts.
The selected target jamoats are as follows:
- Ishkashim District:Rustam Yusufbekov Jamoat and Vrang Jamoat;
- Vanj District:Mahmadullo Abdulloev Jamoat and Rovand Jamoat;
- Rushan District:Rushan Jamoat and Nazarsho Dodikhudoev Jamoat;
- Shughnon District:Navobod Jamoat and Vir Jamoat;
- Khorog City:Shotemuriyon Jamoat and Somonshahr Jamoat.
An important component of the selection process was a series of consultations with representatives of local government authorities, jamoat administrations, and community leaders. These consultations helped verify the accuracy of the collected information, ensured transparency throughout the selection process, and confirmed that the selected communities reflected the actual needs and priorities of the local population.
The completed assessment made it possible to identify the highest-priority locations for the implementation of project activities. The selected jamoats will serve as the primary sites for delivering training programmes, promoting youth entrepreneurship, introducing modern agricultural technologies, and implementing interventions aimed at strengthening the resilience of rural communities.
The selection of the target jamoats was completed in full compliance with the approved procedures and requirements of the United Nations World Food Programme. The results provide a solid foundation for the effective implementation of the project and ensure that project support is directed to the communities where it is most needed.
