With financial support from the Government of Switzerland, the project aims to support the smooth transition of marginalized youth into the social strata by involving them in socio-economic activities. The 12-month project, implemented by the International Charity Public Organization ” Jovid “, began in October 2024 and is called “Inclusive and Advanced Education for Vulnerable Children and Youth“. The project will work in the following target areas:
- Buston city – state institution “Boarding school for orphans of the Executive government authority of the Sughd region”.
- Gafurov district – state institution “Special boarding school for deaf and hard of hearing children named after Tukhtaboy Gafforov.”
It is expected that as a minimum, the following results will be achieved as a result of the implementation of this project:
- Around 195 schoolchildren will take part in numerous planned trainings to improve their knowledge, acquire technical skills and abilities;
- More than 150 young people from boarding schools will receive psychological consultations;
- At least 100 people (high school students and graduates of both boarding schools) will take part in the job fairs. Young people will have the opportunity to receive first-hand information and get acquainted with open vacancies;
- The 6-day summer camp will be attended by 28 children from boarding schools of the target areas;
- 4 topics of short-term courses (10 days each) will be selected. At least 60 young people will participate in short-term vocational courses as students before entering the labour market;
- A commission will be created to review and select startup concepts proposed by boarding school students;
- The selection committee will select 6 best business ideas and the best ones will be financed by the project;
- The teaching staff of the target boarding schools will undergo training in “Career Guidance” and “Using Interactive Modern Teaching Methods for Children with Disabilities”;
- Greenhouses will be built/reconstructed in two boarding schools;
- With the assistance of the project, sports grounds will be built/reconstructed;
- Articles, social media posts, videos, television programs about the events held and the results achieved will be prepared/published/broadcast, and copies of them will be provided to the donor;
- At the end of the project, a round table will be held with the participation of at least 40 representatives of local communities, local authorities, civil society organizations, teachers of boarding schools, ministries, implementing partners and a donor organization. The main achievements and success stories will be presented during the round table. The results will provide an opportunity to discuss further expansion of the project activities in other regions of the country.
