 This year, a project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) was launched to adapt local food production to the effects of climate change (including through the use of drought-resistant seed varieties and diversification of cultivated crops and the promotion of innovative horticultural practices) and support an alternative way life. The name of the project is “Reducing the negative impact of rising food prices and improving food security”. This project is being implemented in several districts of the Republic of Tajikistan (Ishkashim, Sangvor and Lyakhsh). As part of the project in the direction of Ishkashim district Welthungerhilfe has chosen a partner as an executor – the International Charitable Public Organization “Jovid”. The project has been running for 10 months since July 2022.

The main goal of the project«improve access to nutritious food in households: by providing various resources along with increasing the capacity of households».

The following activities are carried out within the project:

  1. Providing food to vulnerable populations;
  2. Training in improved knowledge of agriculture and gardening;
  3. Provision of agricultural resources for home gardening.
