EVERY DROP COUNTS

Due to the fact that agricultural and arable land in the region is mainly sloping, the soils are coarsely skeletal, they are characterized by high filtration and low moisture holding capacity. Based on this, the project for the first time in Ishkashim region introduced a drip irrigation method on two orchards (area 1.75 ha). These garden plots are located in the villages of Barshor (Jamoat Kozideh) and Sumdzhin (Jamoat R. Yusufbekov).

Drip irrigation is one of the methods of economical use of water for agriculture and garden irrigation, in which water is directly and uniformly supplied to the roots of plants.

Advantages of drip irrigation:

  1. Due to the fact that water is directly supplied to the plant roots nutrition zone, it is saved from 2 to 5 times.
  2. Savings from the use of electricity is achieved from 1.5 to 2.5 times.
  3. The use of mineral fertilizers is reduced by 20-50%.
  4. Provides soil protection from water and wind erosion.
  5. Uniform water supply (uniformity 85 – 95%).
  6. Reduction of weeds and the danger of spreading diseases.
  7. Ability to grow crops on uneven areas and slopes.
  8. The yield of agricultural crops is increased by 1.5-2 times.

The installation progress and the procedure for using the drip irrigation system in these selected garden plots were practically shown to the trainees of the above villages.

The results of scientific research and practical experience have shown the greatest effectiveness of drip irrigation for orchards, vineyards and shrubs (especially on sandy and stony soils).3. Капельный полив 1 3. Капельный полив
