Trainings

Within the framework of the sub-project: “Building the potential of rural youth in the field of innovative agriculture,D 3 green technologies, agribusiness and other income-generating activities with high potential for job creation” for the youth of 3 jamoats (Yakhtan, Mujun and I.Somoni) of Devashtich region, 9 trainings were organized and conducted on the topic:

  • Financial management;
  • Types of greenhouses and the basics of growing some agricultural crops in them. Compost and its use;
  • Basics of business planning.

The purpose of the trainings: increasing the level of knowledge of young people regarding innovative sectors of agriculture. The trainings were attended by 160 people, including 81 – girls (50.6%). The organization’s experts have developed 13 types of handouts. All handouts were written in a simple and accessible language for young people, taking into account their wishes regarding content and use.

  • In 9 trainings, more than 734 handouts were distributed. Handouts are an integral part of the training and are very important for its effectiveness. The handouts illustrate the main points of the training and help the participants remember the main points of the training after completion.

D 2Trainings were conducted using interactive teaching methods. The following principles were used: from simple to complex, from a general approach to specific practical examples. The trainings were divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The practical part of the training helps the participants gain experience, improve their skills in the field of drip irrigation, drawing up business plans, efficient use of land, etc.

To provide access to the materials during the trainings, business games were organized, specific examples from the experience of young people. Before the start of the trainings, special programs were drawn up. All trainings were conducted in accordance with the developed program and schedule.

When planning trainings, such features of agricultural production as seasonality, terms of growing crops, seasonality of irrigation, etc. were taken into account.

All educational activities were carried out in accordance with the approved recommendations of the WHO and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan, namely: the use of protective masks and the use of antiseptic agents. All training activities were carried out with the observance of social distance in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The organization of a corner with disinfectants has become a mandatory attribute of every event of the sub-project. In addition, during trainings, the venue is isolated as needed and contact with other people is completely excluded. Before the start of the trainings, the temperature of each participant and all involved employees is measured (and this action is repeated every 4 hours). The training participants changed their protective masks every 2 hours.D 1
